Modern Eichler Remodel: Week 45

April 29, 2019

It’s been a busy few weeks and we have a big Eichler update today. We have exterior Densglass, plumbing roughed-in, initial electrical work, and we are well into a new roof structure. Wheww!

Densglass (Mold & Moisture barrier)

Densglass sheathing is now covering every exterior wall of the house where there is not glass or doors. It’s a nice sunny yellow 🙂

Roof Structure

Our architect and GC have had their hands full, trying to design a roof structure that not only supports our new tube beams, but also houses all of our utility lines, solar, and drainage. Not an easy task. Their solution is this beautifully sculpted wood roof frame that is intricately designed over each roof area.

Plumbing and Electrical

There is a perfect mix of subcontractors on site each day, oscillating from plumbers, electricians, radiant experts, and roofing. Hugh props to our project manager to keeping everything in order.

Almost all of the rough-ins for the kitchen are in, including the plumbed water lines for the sink, fridge, and combi-steam oven. Bathrooms now have water and waste pipes, along with wall hung toilet fixtures and thermostatic valves for the showers.

Enjoy!

Hi, I am interested in finding out more about your roof structure. I live in an eichler and have noise issues with the roof (airplane noise). I was wondering if you can provide more information on the how you designed your roof ? Will it work for noise reductions ? and possible contractors ?
