Week 10:
It was a busy Labor Day weekend as we are finalizing kitchen design and clearing all of our round 1 debris from the courtyard.
Henrybuilt Kitchen Design Phase 2
We’ve narrowed down on kitchen layout and dimensions, which is very exciting. Now we have to choose the final materials, which meant sourcing the wood, countertop and flooring samples. You can now also see the landscape-view window in the kitchen wall!
Here’s a rendering of the DD2 kitchen area with suggested wood upper cabinets and a wood island.
The “library” or reading nook near the courtyard will have a coat closet, bookshelves and a comfy chair so David can watch me bake him cookies. Ha ha ha.
Because David and I like to see all the variations possible, we decided to layout all the options. And by we, I mean David – who mocked up this awesome grid.
Debris Removal
We’ve maxed out the debris dumpster and it’s on its way to back to Marin to be sorted. You would have been amazed at the tetris-style packing job that David tackled. And if you’re curious, it took us 4 hours to load that dumpster…which is insane.

I love everything about this. Especially the skinny long window aside the upper cabinets.
